Our Ministry In Mexico City
The Norris family is currently preparing to join the CMF team in Mexico City, Mexico, to serve with missionaries already
at work in church planting. Their main focus will be on children's ministry in established and new churches.
In 1983, Mary received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology from Indiana University. In
1997, she became the full-time children's minister at Valley Mills Christian Church, Indianapolis.
Mary and her two daughters, Cassie (1987) and Megan (1991), have served their home congregation in many ways, including
small group Bible studies, children's ministry, and women's ministry events. They have also participated in short term mission
trips in the US and in Mexico. The Norrises seek to honor the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) with their ministry in Mexico
City.
It is with confidence in God's leading that Mary, Cassie, and Megan seek partners to support them in this ministry to
Mexico City through financial support, steadfast prayer, and personal encouragement.
CMF's Ministry in Mexico
CMF's ministry in Mexico during the 1980's and 1990's focused on the middle class. Our missionary team uses
the cell church model for planting strong Mexican churches, as well as concentrating on leadership training, Teaching English
as a Second Language, youth ministry, music and worship training. The first fully Mexican-led church was planted in southern
Mexico City. An elder from that church moved north and planted a church in Leon. A second church planted in the south
also has a full-time Mexican minister.
Veteran team members began work in northwestern Mexico City in 1994, and the Northside Christian Church (Iglesia
Cristiana del Norte) celebrated its ninth anniversary in November 2004. Northside uses rental facilites and recently purchased
property to construct a permanent building that will serve as a traning center and worship facility for up to 500 people.
Property has also been purchased for a second church plant in that area of Mexico City. Missionaries will began that in 2005.
The Norris family will join these works by preparing Mexican Christians to minister to children throughout this mega-city
and its surrounding areas."
